The governor witnesses this and kidnaps the young Wong to convince his father to catch the Iron Monkey, which he must do within seven days. Wong ends up fighting the Iron Monkey to prove his innocence. Yang treats many of the men injured while pursuing the Iron Monkey at night, as the constable remains unaware that the physician is really the fabled "hero." Wong's father is arrested and falsely accused of being the Iron Monkey. The angry governor orders his chef constable to search for the Iron Monkey and arrest anyone associated with him. After breaking into the governor's palace and taking a bunch of gold, he becomes public enemy number one. As the Iron Monkey, he goes around town at night and takes from the rich to help the poor. He makes a living by only charging his rich patients. During the day, Yang is a Chinese physician who offers free medical care to those who can't afford it by day. The story revolves around a mysterious encounter with a masked man know as the Iron Monkey, the alter ego of Yang Tianchun. ![]() ![]() The movie presents the tale of events from the childhood of Wong Fei-hung about a Chinese Robin Hood-esque folk hero. ![]() The film, which is a remake of the 1977 movie of the same name, stars Yu Rongguang and Donnie Yen.
